Installation
Art: A Scientific Approach
What is installation?
Every
art has its own identity. When we take a look at the different dimensions of
the art, we get to see the real presentation of the inner feelings of theartist.
Fine
arts can be mainly divided into three parts – painting, sculpture and
architecture. The opponent of these arts is the form of art – installation art.
In fact, we understand installation art in the following language.
"An installation is a piece of art created, created, or installed in a specific location, where it also reflects the physical characteristics of that specific location and associated materials."
In 1990 the term installation was first used by art magazine and Studio International to refer to a work that contained an exhibition and photographic documentation of the arrangement called an installation scene.
Critical
Introduction to Installation Art
Human
is rich in conscience, that's why he has his own involvement in doing every
work. When a person thinks something in his mind to create an art, then he has
to go through infinite types of shapes and bad thoughts which is a law of
nature. Many senses or all the senses can be used together in art. Rather than
just a visual experience, touch, sound, smell may also be involved. In this, a
kind of communication and experience is also achieved, beyond the display of
any exquisite artwork. In installation art a specific location and place is
also made a feature of the art work. Moving or re-creating such a work of art
from one place to another may end the specialty of that particular place and a
new work of art may appear which may be against the thinking of the artist, hence
the special visual and Location is very important in installation. Such works
are also called site specific works. The purpose of this site specific is
related to scientific and mechanical system. Many installation artists also put
some conditions or provide some detailed information in their installation.
Like- where and how will it be established? Which materials will be used? And
will it be rebuilt in the same place or somewhere else? Since the importance of
the design space is the focal point in the establishment, but in some
circumstances it may not be necessary. Therefore, it can be reconstructed from
the same place at a similar place, exactly the same or somewhat as before.
For
example, an installation can be installed or displayed in any art gallery,
museum, outside the museum, public places, any art fair or biennial etc.
Installation art is a type of creation or display of a work of art. Not related to any movement or style. In this, both traditional and non-traditional types of materials can be used, such as pictures, sculptures, ready-made items, foundobjects, drawings, words, etc. The place of any installation can be large or small by the abundance of any material or the nature of the performance etc. This kind of experience for the viewer is very different from a traditional art work.
Installation Art Features - A Glimpse
Installation art is an extended form of modern art, which is mostly created in certain contexts, which are urban, rural scenes or art galleries. There can be a definite boundary line between architecture and art. Architecture is sometimes equated with the forms of sculpture (sometimes also seen as sculpture) and art with the forms produced that are the end result of architectural enterprises. The division between the two is only from the perspective of the beholder. Here, an attempt is made to explore the field of installation art through some such aspects in which glimpses of architecture are visible in its texture. The qualities of architecture are present in its physical manifestation.
In choosing the subject of this art, the artist adjusts both the imaginary and physical thoughts according to the need. There are many issues in installation art because the people working in it work in that medium with different points of view, viewpoints, ideologies, although contemporary installation makers work in urban, historical and social contexts. This medium differs from other mediums in many ways. This can be seen as the experience of Gesammtkunstwork, which means "Total work of Art" as art received as visual art. It is a vast expansion or mixed experience in its genre. Because it is elaborated by individual details (represented by architecture, painting, sculpture, drama and performances). It is also to be noted here that it is not just such an art style that decorates the installation with materials. As for its subject matter, the methodology is influenced by the art movements - Conceptual art, Land art and Dada.
Installationart is practiced by postmodern artists who install materials in a place, room,
warehouse, etc., and in this installation, the installation of materials and
space becomes a work of art. Because an installation art also invites the
viewer to enter and walk through specific spaces and interact with certain
elements, it provides a different kind of experience to the viewer. Such an
experience which is not there in any artwork or sculpture because there is only
one reference point to see and if you notice, in this mode, the audience
establishes a relationship through their senses - by touching, listening to
sound, smelling and seeing.
Because of its flexibility and multidimensional impact, it has evolved into techniques used in installation art, computer art, software development in video, film projection, and avant-garde theater and dance. It also has other influences on architecture and interior design.
Above all, installation art is a type of conceptual art. A style in which the idea and effect is considered to be the most important elements, not the final product or the creation of a work of art. (Although an installation is a purely temporary work of art, unless it is photographed or documented, it ceases to exist.) If a traditional work of art encourages us to admire its skill, the installation allows us to see the whole work of art. invites you to experience. At the same time, it forces you to rethink your values and attitudes.
Like all conceptual art styles, installation artists focus on the display of their information rather than the materials used in it. Installation art remains connected to the land and related to its physical location. Conceptual art and installation art are the major styles of postmodern art today.
Conclusion
-
Installation
art is basically a form of modern art in which the artist uses objects in art
creation considering the form, size, subject and situation. This artifact is
produced both in installed and in motion. Solid materials are definitely used
in its construction.
